Bo Calbert - EAB Member

Robert "Bo" Calbert is the President of McCarthy Building Companies for the Southwest Region.  Bo oversees McCarthy’s construction operations throughout the Southwest, including projects in Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah. He plays a crucial role in expanding McCarthy’s presence in both existing and new markets.  

During his 27-year career with the company, Bo has worked in four McCarthy regions and held a variety of positions with the company. He joined the Southwest Region as Executive Vice President of Operations and was promoted to President of the Southwest Region in 2000.  Bo's extensive on-site experience spans multiple industries, including healthcare, semiconductor, water/wastewater, hospitality, office and public works, across more than 10 states.  His range of experience, combined with the varied market needs have served as a foundation for establishing the Southwest Region's diverse business services. Bo has worked on some of McCarthy’s largest and most prominent national projects and several notable Phoenix landmarks, including Hayden Ferry Lakeside, the Arizona State University Foundation Building and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport Terminal 4.

Bo is a board member of the Arizona Builders Alliance (ABA), as well as an advisory board member of the Alliance for Construction Excellence (ACE). He is a member of the Associated General Contractors’ Project Delivery Committee and the Arizona State University Council for Design Excellence. In late 2008, Bo was elected to the Scottsdale Airport Advisory Commission. He also serves on the board of directors for the Caitlin Robb Foundation.  

Bo and his family are active with McCarthy’s Heart Hats community outreach program, which is dedicated to ensuring real community needs are being met through hands-on activities and financial support to a variety of nonprofit causes.
