| 7:30 am - 9:00 am | Carbon-Neutral: A Review of Farewell, My Subaru Presented by: Doug Fine, Author, Journalist, Adventurer & Goat Herder Doug grew up in Long Island (the quintessential New York suburban glacial moraine) and graduated from Stanford University. Fine’s method of journalistic investigation was to strap on a backpack and travel to five continents. As a young freelancer, Fine reported in this manner for the Washington Post, Salon, U.S. News and World Report, Sierra, Wired and Outside. He became a world-class adventure writer and investigative journalist, writing culturally-insightful and funny dispatches. One of these, about democracy efforts in Burma, was read into the Congressional record. During this time, his 20’s, Fine recognized that he felt more alive while living in wild ecosystems. He moved to extreme rural Alaska, with happiness and self-awareness as his goals. He has published two books; Not Really An Alaskan Mountain Man and Farewell, My Subaru. |
Description Carbon-neutral misadventures surrounding Doug Fine's new book Farewell, My Subaru. He'll discuss solar power, alternative vehicle fuels, and sustainability in this hour long talk followed by a Q&A. Downloads Presentation is not available. |
