Nearly every public recreation agency in the country is facing park closures and growing deferred maintenance due to rising costs and budget cuts.  However; a few agencies have been able to keep all their parks open and well-maintained despite recreation budget cuts.  The key to this success has been by using public-private partnerships (PPPs) to reduce the cost of operating public parks. As this model is better understood, agencies are increasingly seeking private partners to not just operate the parks but to rebuild, restore and expand park infrastructure.

The PPP Conference Committee will give an update on the Annual Conference scheduled for Tuesday, October 18.
